# Install OKiDO as an app

> Install OKiDO on your computer or phone so it opens in its own window, like any other app.

OKiDO runs in your browser, and you can also install it as an app. It then gets its own icon on your home screen, dock or taskbar and opens in its own window, without the browser's address bar and tabs. Nothing to download from an app store: the browser installs it in a few seconds, and it always runs the latest version.

## On a computer (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open OKiDO in Chrome or Microsoft Edge and sign in.
2. Choose the install icon at the right end of the address bar. If you don't see it, open the browser menu and look for the option to install OKiDO as an app.
3. Confirm with **Install**.

OKiDO opens in its own window, and you find it with your other apps, for example in the Start menu or Launchpad. In Safari on a Mac, choose **File**, then **Add to Dock**.

## On a phone or tablet

- **iPhone and iPad (Safari):** open OKiDO, choose the Share button, then **Add to Home Screen**, then **Add**.
- **Android (Chrome):** open OKiDO, open the browser menu (the three dots), then choose **Install app** or **Add to Home screen**.

Open OKiDO from its new icon: it fills the whole screen, with the bottom bar for getting around (see [Find your way around](https://okido.io/en/docs/getting-started/find-your-way-around.md)).

> **Tip:** On Android, press and hold the OKiDO icon; on a computer, right-click it. You can then jump straight to the dashboard, your inbox or your projects.
